3 months at UCB

Today I celebrate the 3 months anniversary at UCB. Arrived here as an official Alien on September 10th. Feels like a long time ago yet so recent. I am up and running with work in the lab, we have nice apartment to stay at and me Corinne are getting more in to the Berkeley life style, yet to be defined. A few thoughts along the way so far..

Differences.. why do we focus so much on differences when mostly what we have is similarities and connection points as human beings, as species homo sapiens. Today I see so much hate and people pointing out a few things and focusing on them instead of embracing us as a whole. We all came from the same place, historically not too long ago. And when astronauts since the 1960s started travel into space and to the Moon, they saw a world that focus way too much on separating and creating issues, instead of trying to gather and unite as one. If there is a language of the people that can unite, it is love and respect. Understand thy neighbour, and try to keep an open mind, because we all have our differences but we should focus on our similarities. To me a distinct difference between moving forward and looking backwards, when the train leaves you want to be on it. Berkeley has strong vibe of acceptance and allowance of differences to coexist and focus on how to bring together the society, very inspirational.

Nature, as in the picture it feels so alive here in Berkeley and I wish it to proceed. I came across these two companies/organizations, Greenblue and IndigoAg, and you should all keep track on their activities. I found them very interesting and agriculture have been and will always play a most crucial role in our balance and existance with Mother Nature. Let us treat Nature like it has the value it deserves.
