A classy and steamy welcoming!

Have now been at UC Berkeley for an active 3 weeks more or less, with a lot of training and admin stuff to take care off. Between heatwaves and warm evenings I have been treated with for example an amazing welcoming reception, see image, where both food and surrounding was super duper! Being in the old International House building at UCB campus. Housing visiting students and hosting events of different type for both students and faculty, much focus on visitors.

Starting to get the feeling of living in Berkeley rather than visiting.. much do to getting in comfy in the appartment and getting my bike set up and Corinne now being here with me.

Looking forward to the upcoming weeks getting more stuff happening in the lab and I will give an update eventually on the progress. Until then some things that brings thought and good feelings: Campus is gathering and using (at cafés etc) lots of compostable materials including polylactic acid (PLA) lids to mugs and paper-based containers for food. Would be nice to see those shuttles on Campus running on Biogas from Campus-generated compostables instead of gasoline..
