Making beauty from renewables…

This weekend I had the opportunity to follow along to a Winery here in California, close to Salinas. Renewable materials when it is at its most fun? I think so.. The three brothers in charge of the wine production site was super nice and fun and let us help out with the winemaking.
We helped for example with crushing and separating the grapes from their stem and holders using a highly efficient mechanical separator and wooden tools.

One step in the process is during fermentation when one should slowly and gentle push down the top layers of grapes down so the yeast can go into all grapes, create homogeneity.

This was an surprisingly awesome feeling.. smells were also amazing..

All the residues are used for composting and being re-cycled at site for growing new grape vines.
