Going renewable works!!

Just bought a dipping sauce that came in a full paper material, also with lid. A perfect example of replacing plastics from oil, where I give up transparent material and everlasting properties, you know what? Turns out works fantastic! Compostable and simply throw in food waste containers here ❤️ Let’s go! Look for these… more coming! Forming shapes of paper materials have been done for a long time (see egg cartons) but now it is getting food products optimised for phasing out plastics.

About Wooden bucket

My name is Joakim Engström, I finished my PhD in Polymer and Material Science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2019 and I finished a 2.5 years Post Doc position at UC Berkeley in 2022, now been working at the super inspiring start-up Sway for more than a year! Sway is forging the material and cultural dimensions of a plastic-free future with the regenerative power of seaweed!

I am an environment-driven optimistic person with one goal above all. I want to be part of the solution to today’s societal challenges and not part of the problem… The common drive and strive is the formation of a “renewable revolution”, using and growing much more trees and plants globally.

Therefore, I have created Wooden Bucket to collect great ideas, new technology and discuss concepts of renewable materials. A wooden bucket of content. It is also therefore naturally a place for me to collect free educational content within plastics and wood science (focus on material science), directly applied to today’s challenges with using too much fossil resources and causing plastic pollution.

Find my own academic background and my research on My Wooden Bucket and new concepts and ideas in the Idea Bucket. You can follow my stories from California in Wooden Bucket in USA. Check out my fellow Wooden bucket guests, to see who else is working in the right direction.
